On Saturday 14 April 2026, the Lae Cycling Association signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Lae City Authority — a major step toward expanding cycling across the region.

Goals

The agreement aims to:

  • Strengthen community safety
  • Create pathways for youth employment
  • Build a more sustainable cycling culture in Lae and beyond
  • Work toward a formal Cycling Federation for Morobe Province
