The 112 emergency number was officially launched for Morobe Province on 8 December 2025 by Assistant Commissioner of Police for Northern Command Peter Guinness and Hon. John Rosso MP, Chairman of LCA, Member for Lae and Deputy Prime Minister. The line is operated through a partnership with Digicel, Vodafone, Telikom PNG and NICTA.
