112 emergency hotline officially launched for Morobe Province

LAE — The 112 emergency hotline was officially launched for Morobe Province on 8 December 2025, providing toll-free 24/7 access to police, fire, and ambulance services.

The launch was officiated by:

  • Assistant Commissioner of Police for Northern Command Peter Guinness
  • Hon. John Rosso MP — Chairman of LCA, Member for Lae and Deputy Prime Minister

The line is operated through a partnership with Digicel, Vodafone, Telikom PNG, and NICTA, ensuring the number is toll-free across all major networks in Papua New Guinea.

How to use 112: dial 112 from any mobile or landline. Calls are toll-free. Operators are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and dispatch police, fire, or ambulance as needed across Lae City and rural Morobe Province.
