Opposite St. Josephs Technical School, 8 mileMainland Crocodile Farm is one of the largest commercial producers in the southern hemisphere and an integral part of the crocodile industry in Papua New Guinea. A member of the Convention for the International Trade of Endangered Species (CITES), the farm breeds saltwater crocodiles for their skins and meat.
The crocodile farm is an active promoter of the sustainable use and conservation of the wild crocodile population in Papua New Guinea, in close partnership with the wetlands local communities, who harvest eggs and young crocodiles from the wild.
