Labu Lake is one of the top destinations that the Lae Tourism Bureau is promoting. A five minute boat ride from Lae, the lake sits adjacent to the Markham River and is a stone’s throw from the mighty Huon Gulf Sea.
The lake is surrounded by Labu Butu and Labu Miti villages and further down the coastline is the third village, Labu Tale.

From here it’s a trek to Pupuli Waterfall. Guests can swim under the waterfall, rest up and take some amazing photographs.
- Lake Tour & Beach Day – A 10min boat ride to the LaeAbout private beach front at Bamua where visitors can spend their morning de-stressing on the beach, with a good book or if you would like to have a family picnic there are barbecue facilities available. Fire wood can be purchased from the locals. On this tour you have free access to the beach to swim, build sandcastles, unwind or work on some much needed vitamin sea. By 3pm the visitors head back via the mangroves giving you a chance to see Labu Lake and take in the beauty natural beauty.
